As a member of the NCE HSE Team, you will ensure that Health, Safety & Environment is at the forefront of everything that we do within the team. We are continually seeking to positively influence the Vestas safety culture, and you would be an integral part of that journey.
Responsibilities
Provide HSE support to Vestas Technology UK Center in our facility based on the Isle of Wight (VTUK IOW) and be based at Saint Cross
Assist in the preparation and delivery of HSE compliance of site documentation, conduct internal, and support external HSE inspections/audits and attend meetings to offer guidance on all HSE matters
Support the management team at all levels, handling site compliance, incidents and ensuring the necessary corrective/preventive actions are implemented within the required timescales and management systems
Collect, validate, report, and respond to HSE data
Ensure compliance to HSE legislation across site/projects and review and revise documents in support of the HSE Management System
Ensure close collaboration with stakeholders on HSE matters and ensure continuous review of the company's Safe Systems of Work in order to drive improvement
Support the organization in regard to COSHH, Risk Assessment, Walks & Talks, Incident Management, and Environmental Aspects and internal & external audits ISO 14001 and 45001
Qualifications
You will be an experienced HSE Specialist and are interested in joining the renewables industry
Hold relevant education within HSE (Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate)
Advantageous to have relevant experience and knowledge in all aspects of COSHH assessment
Experience from a similar HSE role within a technology development environment
Experience of interpreting/reviewing/developing HSE policies and processes
Good IT skills, especially Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to quickly understand new systems
Good understanding of evaluating risk and planning risk management strategies
Able to interpret legislation wording and apply this to deliver practical solutions
Good understanding of current UK and European HSE legislation
Good written/spoken English skills and be a skilled communicator, able to influence people
Enthusiastic, self-driven, and can work with limited supervision
Structured workstyle
Able to coach and deliver training to drive safety culture improvements across the business

Additional information
Position Location: This position will be supporting Vestas Technology Center facility on the Isle of Wight (VTUK IOW) and be based at Saint Cross. This position requires approximately 10% travel per year.
