HSE Recruitment are working with a manufacturing company with a main base in Chesterfield who are looking for a HSEQ Lead.

There are around 100 staff in the UK, the main base for this role is in Chesterfield (between Chesterfield and Mansfield) as this is the largest of the 5 UK sites but there will be travel to 4 other sites (2 x West Mids, 1 x Scotland and 1 x North East). This is a standalone role reporting into the MD, but ownership is with everyone.

This is a very hands-on, shop floor based role which focuses on improving the health and safety performance and culture. The previous person made a lot of improvements, the business just got through their ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 audit and recently implemented a new H&S reporting system which has made things like reporting near misses really easy and signing into site simpler.

They are a busy and profitable business but with the backing and support of a larger parent company. You'll be given a lot of autonomy but gain from wider company systems and internal audits.

Person Specification:

NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum Background in manufacturing, engineering, production environments; someone not fazed by an industrial site. Experience in a similar level role as a confident HSE Advisor or Manager. Driven, passionate, desire to push things forward and improve, self-motivated, engaging, good communicator, confident and able to challenge and influence.

Salary and Package:

Up to £45,000 per annum + car allowance of £400 per month (after 3-6 months there will be a discussion around whether to change this to a car or keep the allowance). Holiday 20 + 8 bank holidays. Private Medical Care. Life Insurance. Share Scheme. Working Hours - 8-5 Mon to Thursday and 8-4:30 Friday.
