We’re seeking a HSQE Advisor to cover maternity leave on a 9-12 month fixed term contract. Part time would be considered and the role involves promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment while ensuring compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental management systems and legislation for all of fixed sites and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing technical and specialist HSQE advice and support to line and site management
Monitoring site compliance with statutory HSE responsibilities and the business management system
Assisting in development and implementation of strategies, campaigns and improvement plans
Providing technical and specialist HSQE support to the review of HSQE management plans, environmental and operational risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
Attending and supporting operational meetings as required
Reviewing site procedures and practices as required and reporting to the management team as appropriate
Undertaking audits and inspections with findings recorded and advised to management. Where appropriate conduct follow up assurance ensuring non-conformities or actions have been completed within designated timescales
Supporting or where directed conducting incident investigation to identify root cause and recommendations to prevent reoccurrence, including the production of relevant incident reports within designated timescales
Collating statistical data and assisting with the production of month end reports in a timely manner
Conducting company inductions to new employees/visitors
Delivering in house procedure familiarisation and training to site personnel
Supporting with bid submissions and supply chain evaluations on HSQE matters
What we’re looking for:
NEBOSH Construction or NEBOSH General Certificate
Technical Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (desirable).
IEMA, WAMITAB or similar qualifications (desirable)
Full UK Driving licence
Technical knowledge of the HS&E Regulations as pertaining to relevant business activities
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate and engage at all levels including with enforcing bodies with the Health & Safety Executive
Excellent writing skills with the ability to write concise reports and summarise key points
Ability to work autonomously, manage your own diary and arrange meetings/site visits as required
IT Literate – with experience of using Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Share Point.
