Colchester, CO7 7DX About the role: This is an exciting opportunity for any automotive enthusiast, you will have the opportunity to inspect a wide range of vehicles and will be travelling to varied locations around your hub location. Working as a vehicle inspector you will consistently provide efficient and effective vehicle inspection services to Manheim’s customers. All Manheim vehicle inspectors are responsible for reliably achieving quality and quantity outputs and providing an industry leading customer experience in the process. Working out of our Colchester Hub location alongside a team of drivers it will be your responsibility to review the appointments allocated to you by the scheduling team and plan the best possible route to complete all inspection appointments whilst ensuring the drivers are supported in getting back to the hub at the end of the day. There will be no requirement for you to use your own vehicle beyond getting to the hub site, the company will provide you with pool vehicle each day and a fuel card. Although previous experience would be an advantage it’s not necessary, we’ve had great success with individuals who already work within the automotive industry in similar roles such as body shop technicians, smart repairers and vehicle damage assessors. The key is having a keen eye for detail and liking the variety the role brings, with meeting new people and travelling to different locations each day. Main responsibilities: Accurately inspecting vehicles to Manheim Standard Operating Procedure and BVRLA fair wear and tear policy to provide accurate and detailed reports for use in the auction process and by customers. Full training on the standards and requirements will be delivered in your induction. Accurately complete Inspections in line with predefined process/procedure and quality standards. To take high quality photos of the vehicles, ensuring images and inspection standards are in line with current practice. Ensuring that the onsite process for key storage is followed to ensure that keys can be tracked and traced. Skills and experience required: Full UK driving License. Knowledge of vehicle derivatives. Able to cope well under pressure and work effectively within a team. Basic mechanical knowledge an advantage. Computer literate – able to use a tablet, mobile phone and access platforms such as Teams.
