The Human Resource Administrator manages and prepares human resource documents, assists employees with work issues, facilitates employee onboarding and training, and oversees the enrollment and maintenance of the employee benefits package. Primary Duties (Benefits): Reconcile and administer payment of employee benefits including health, vision, dental and life insurance and pension plans. Timely communicate changes in status of employees’ benefits to proper brokers. Assist with employee understanding of benefit and human resource procedures and policies. Produce and distribute employee total compensation packages. Advise employees on issues related to policies and resolve associated concerns as they arise. Administer COBRA notifications, enrollments, and payments. Annual review, enrollment, and administration of employee benefit package. Administer enrollment of newly hired employees in the benefit package. Prepare, distribute, and file 1094-C and 1095-C healthcare forms. Primary Duties (Human Resources): Assist department supervisors with recruitment and hiring of new employees, including the creation of the job listing, posting of job opening with advertisers, distribution of documents to supervisors and search committees, correspondence with applicants and committee, and scheduling and attending interview sessions/campus tours. Serve on the search committee for faculty members and Dean President. Correspond with applicants before, during, and after the search process. Facilitate the updating of job descriptions. Administer employee annual reviews. Write and distribute policy/procedure revisions to Faculty, Adjunct Faculty and Staff Employee Handbooks. Research and administer compliance training sessions. Assist supervisors with employee terminations (voluntary and involuntary). Attend and facilitate exit interviews. Serve as a member on the Events Committee; plan and execute employee morale-boosting events. Conduct investigations if/when incidents arise by interviewing involved parties and presenting a solution. Primary Duties (Other): Reconcile and record HR related invoices. Produce and maintain HR procedural manuals. Review archived files to determine shelf-life. Develop supervisor and employee training and cross-training. Attend webinars and/or seek guidance on ever-changing compliance issues; file compliance documents with designated authorities. Produce HR report and attend Board of Trustees meeting as directed. Knowledge: Basic accounting principles. Clergy payroll tax laws and procedures. Human resource documentation procedures and requirements, including COBRA regulations. Accounts payable principles, procedures and standards. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Ability to learn automated HR systems and software tools. Skills: Detail-oriented with demonstrated accuracy. Ability to meet deadlines timely. Strong ability to be well organized and multi-task. Ability to analyze and solve problems. Highly trainable with the desire to learn new processes in an ever-changing work environment. Ability to seek opportunities for continued educational training to increase job performance. Flexibility in assisting other departments when needed. Ability to interact pleasantly with staff, faculty, and students. Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality. Strong interest in keeping current on labor law and other regulatory changes. Ability to work independently with little supervision.
