Full-time, Permanent, Hybrid MLK Education Search are seeking to appoint an experienced HR Assistant for an all age special school for students with complex learning difficulties to provide operational support to the HR Manager. This will include employee relations case management, absence management and recruitment, requiring the successful applicant to have a sound understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice. Key Responsibilities: Place adverts for vacancies, and manage applications. Invite shortlisted applicants to interviews and participate in interview process when required. Assist with all employee onboarding including carrying out relevant background and compliance checks. Ensure effective DBS administration and compliance. Manage employee records using Sense HR. Work alongside the HR Manager to collate and record training on Sense HR. Oversee, alongside the Senior Administration Officer, thorough safeguarding, management and administration of the Single Central Record. Support with exit interviews for leavers when required. Act as a note taker during confidential meetings and staff forums as requested. Take an active role in supporting the administration, coordination, and support alongside the HR Manager with all ER case management. Work with the HR Manager to monitor absence management, including absence reviews, attendance hearings, and supporting line managers when required. Produce reports as and when required. Update and maintain statutory policies as agreed with the Governing Body. Other General Duties: Willingness to attend courses as part of CPD. Undertake annual Professional Development Review with the HR Manager. Undertake any other reasonable tasks as directed by the HR Manager. Qualifications: Level 3 CIPD Qualification (highly desirable). Experience of recruitment administration and co-ordination (preferably within a school). A knowledge of safer recruitment processes. The HR Assistant will be expected to undertake all the above in a complex setting with conflicting demands. While every effort has been made to explain the main duties and responsibilities of the post not every task undertaken may have been identified. The postholder may be required to do other duties appropriate to the level of the role, as directed by the HR Manager. As part of your role, there may be a requirement to work across any of the 3 school sites, Fazakerley, Croxteth, and Speke so it will be essential for the successful applicant to have access to a vehicle.
