Is this your chance to join the team constructing one of Scotland's largest offshore wind farms? Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm Inch Cape is a 1080MW offshore wind farm situated 15km from the Angus coast in the North Sea. The power it generates will be transmitted 85 kilometres to a new substation at Cockenzie, in East Lothian from where it will enter the national transmission system. Inch Cape is a more than £3 billion infrastructure project that will make a significant contribution to the UK’s carbon emissions reduction targets. Once complete its 72 turbines will generate enough electricity to power almost half the homes in Scotland. Summary of Assignment: The HV Manager is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the HV services contract during the Onshore Substation Construction, Commissioning and Energisation phase on the Inch Cape Windfarm. The HV Manager reports to the Wind Farm Commissioning Manager. Responsibilities Manage interface between HV services contractor and SEL/SPT/VESTAS/IAC contractor Liaison with HV services contractor Lead SAP to coordinate energisation activities Participate in package meetings to understand each scope and have a full overview of package needs in terms of energisation. Review and audit the HV services contractor HV safety rules and supporting procedures Attend HV safety committee meetings Be part of the HV safety rules authorising panel Close collaboration with the Contractor Commissioning Teams and HV services contractor team to effectively produce and plan the Commissioning Switching Programmes to facilitate the first time Energisation of equipment and subsequent live Commissioning tests Liaison with ICOL O&M team to develop HV safety for the O&M phase Assist with the development of the overall windfarm single line diagram Participate in programme meetings and develop an energisation programme Skills: Good communicator Familiar with standard office IT systems such as Microsoft Can lead and manage teams of people Knowledge: 10 years SAP/Control Engineer experience Extensive knowledge of Power Systems, equipment, SCADA and Protection Systems Previous experience working for or alongside Siemens Energy, National Grid or Scottish Power Transmission Previously held a similar position either for Client or Contractor Worked in High Voltage Substation up to 275 / 400kV and held Authorisations (minimum Competent Person) Qualifications: Electrical apprenticeship and higher education in electrical systems BESC SHEA Power Client Contractor National Safety Group Passport CSCS If you wish to make a big impact in renewables and being involved in this innovative project do not hesitate to apply.
