We now have exciting permanent opportunities for motivated and suitably qualified HVAC System Engineer to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England. The HVAC Systems Engineer role will be to design and integrate the system(s) into the overall nuclear power plant by interacting with all disciplines.
Key Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:
The HVAC Engineer role will be to design, review and integrate the system(s) into the overall nuclear power plant by interacting with stakeholders such as engineering disciplines, manufacturers, or clients, by coordinating delivery related to the system(s) and by ensuring quality and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the team lead/discipline pilot in the technical coordination, production, and monitoring of layout engineering studies for one or more buildings on:
- HVAC equipment
- HVAC ducting and other related items such as supports
- Overall integration of HVAC design into the dedicated buildings
- Proposal of technical solutions to improve design maturity
- Monitoring and resolution of design Open Points and design non-conformances in the specific discipline
- Reception of input data for the layout engineering of the building (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, equipment data, etc.), analysis and verification of technical consistency
- Production and review of related technical documents (Layout Release Reports, design changes, design packages…)
- Review and assessment of deliverables produced by electrical execution designers such as drawings or 3D design packages
- Support and follow up of execution design activities undertaken by design team
- Support to resolve queries coming from site-based design teams
Person Specification, Qualifications and Profession Accreditations:
The HVAC Engineer must have, or be working towards the following:
- Master’s degree in mechanical or process engineering or similar
- In the absence of a master’s degree in mechanical or process engineering, significant qualifications in an HVAC Engineering field with necessary relevant and proven work experience
- Chartership status through a recognised international body.
In the absence of these qualifications sufficient relevant experience can be appropriate to determine suitability.
Experience & Skills:
- Good knowledge and understanding of general layout rules for an industrial project.
- Knowledge of the general operation of a nuclear power station and the associated safety aspects.
- Good knowledge of PDMS (or any 3D design software), AutoCAD 2D and Navisworks software.
