HYGIENE MANAGER We are a major supplier of morning goods to major supermarkets nationally and are currently looking to strengthen our hygiene team. We are based in the Ashton under Lyne area of Greater Manchester and operate 24 hours a day. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to our bakery manager, working Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm; however, we require some flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends. THE ROLE The key day-to-day responsibilities include: Reviewing and implementing customer codes of practice and ensuring compliance with all hygiene standards. Ensuring hygiene operatives across day and night shifts are appropriately trained, organised, and managed to complete the required workload. Ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and fully. Managing and developing scheduled deep and standard cleaning of machinery/environment program to required standards. Liaising with production management to minimise risk to the product through effective hygiene management and process control. Monitoring and managing the site waste disposal system in conjunction with the third-party contractor. THE CANDIDATE Ideally with a level 4 HACCP qualification and/or a level 4 Food Safety qualification Experience of working in a similar role within a food manufacturing environment is desirable Man-management and supervisory experience desirable Strong understanding of the demands of the major retailers in relation to food safety and hygiene practices Good communication skills both verbal and written Proficient PC skills You will be given a competitive salary commensurate with experience and, after the qualifying waiting period, you will be enrolled in our workplace pension scheme.
