Hygiene Manager

to join our fast-growing team and business based in Malton. This role is biased towards hygiene with some processing responsibility and so reports to our Head of Technical. This role will suit someone who has worked in a manufacturing environment before (it’s brilliant if that’s food production), or as Hygiene Manager. You will be responsible for leading our 20 strong team of Hygiene Supervisors, Team Leaders and Operatives in carrying out deep cleaning of our production equipment, running production processes and being the senior person on site on shift. Your duties will include: Manage, delegate to, coach, train and motivate your team

Representing the department when auditors or customers are on site

Management and control of department budget

Monitoring departmental KPI’s and challenge improvement when required to ensure targets are achieved and improved

Ensuring all planned hygiene tasks are completed to retailer & BRCGS requirements

Liaising with Production and Engineering, to plan in when Periodical cleaning tasks can take place

Review the effectiveness and appropriateness of existing cleaning schedules and work with the Technical team and chemicals partner to continuously improve our processes

Improving cleaning validation

Ensuring hygiene standards are met and that the business is compliant with the relevant requirements within Food Hygiene Regulations 852/2004 and 853/2004 and BRC requirements

Updating and maintaining the Hygiene Management System and records, including training records, process records and cleaning instruction cards (CIC’s)

Managing stock control (Chemicals, PPE, sundries)

We are a 24hr operation 7 days a week, flexibility with working hours is going to be required at times.

Experience we are looking for in our new Hygiene Manager: Previously worked in a management level role

Food Safety Level 3

HACCP Level 3

Document Control experience

Good Hygiene Practice (GHP) experience

Excellent communication skills

Basic level computer skills
