IDA Engineer The purpose of the Installation Design Authority (IDA) is to support the production, approval and delivery of technical design solutions across numerous Projects and Programmes, ensuring conformance to both industry and MOD standards. Key Responsibilities: Conduct technical site surveys & develop system and infrastructure site designs. Application of the MOD’s JSP604 / JSP453, leaflet 4800 / Defence ICT Installation Standard. Formal approval of Design Proposal (DP) & As Fitted (AF) documentation. Conduct installation compliance and signoff site inspections. Provide design guidance and consultancy to Customer Solution Architects (CSA) / Network Designers. Provide technical guidance and support at all levels within the Company, our Customers and 3rd Party Contractors. Core Skills: Experienced IDA, with good understanding of JSP604 / 453, Leaflet 4800 / Defence ICT Installation Standard, JSP440, AMSG 719, CESG Memos and TEMPEST. Structured cabling systems, Computer network installation topology and hardware, Cryptographic equipment. Electrical and Environmental standards (BS, EN) relating to network equipment, cable pathways and desktop user locations. CDM and Health & Safety Regulations. General Skills: General IT Skills – Windows, Email, SharePoint and File/Data Storage. Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel and Visio. AutoCAD Viewer applications. Written and spoken English.
