Senior Shift Automation Engineer

to support the Engineering Shift Manager at our client's busy distribution centre on the outskirts of Mansfield. Working at this state of the art 2.5 million sq ft distribution centre, you will have a varied role working within the automation team managing the planned maintenance schedule and responding to critical breakdowns, keeping downtime to a minimum while supporting the team with your technical knowledge and experience. Working closely with the Engineering Shift Manager, you will be involved in the performance reviews of the wider automation team, recommending additional support and training where needed, but also identifying the strengths of individuals for progression and succession planning for the future stability of the department. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Engineer/Team Leader that is looking for the next step in their career who can confidently support the senior engineering team. Key responsibilities for a Senior Shift Automation Engineer: Planned Routine Maintenance Respond to breakdowns proactively to limit downtime, taking ownership of issues. Strong attention to detail CMMS processes Service and repair of equipment on site while adhering to Health & Safety Guidelines Mentoring of junior team members Qualifications, Skills and Experience for a Senior Shift Automation Engineer: Engineering Apprenticeship, HNC/ONC Experience as a Team Leader/Manager Experience working on Automated Material Handling Systems A solid understanding of PLCs and field wiring Ability to read technical Electrical and Mechanical drawings Strong communication and interpersonal skills Computer literate Confidently work at height Salary and Benefits of a Senior Shift Automation Engineer: Salary: £57,500 Shift: 4 on 4 off Days & Nights 6am – 6pm / 6pm – 6am Career progression Discounted Gym Membership Employee Recognition Scheme If you feel you are ready to take the next step in your career and have the right skills and experience for this Senior Shift Automation Engineer role, please click Apply or contact the Permanent Vacancies team on 07443 359151.
