Some of the advice provided will be in response to business need and some will be more project-based, supporting ongoing strategy initiatives. This is a varied role, but there is a strong bias towards drafting commercial contracts. Working on a wide range of legal disciplines including some data protection advice (with the support of specialised lawyers). In addition, there is a corporate governance element to this role requiring the solicitor to assist with key company secretarial duties, such as company filings and managing deadlines. Responsibilities:

Be capable of independently completing contracts (both drafting and reviewing completed drafts) from concept through to final signed version Undertake corporate work matters Provide legal support to company projects and initiatives Manage external legal advisors Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the Slater and Gordon Group Advise on regulatory, data protection and dispute resolution matters where the need arises and with appropriate support Contribute to the team goals including innovating, automating and standardising processes Minimum Requirements:

Qualified solicitor (on the roll of solicitors and authorised to practise in the jurisdiction of England & Wales) Demonstrable experience in relevant areas of law (mainly commercial contracts) Experience of working in a regulated environment Commercial dispute experience Commercially pragmatic with good business acumen Able to work collaboratively with the legal team/GCO and wider stakeholders within the Slater and Gordon business group Commercially minded and able to provide legal advice in the context of the wider business aims Slater and Gordon are a leading consumer law firm which provides a broad range of specialist legal and complementary services.
