In-House Legal Advisor

In-House Legal Advisor Location: Chelmsford Salary: Negotiable and dependant on experience. In-House Legal Advisor required for a large, successful, rapidly expanding company. The role is working for the UK's largest independent car dealership and reports directly to the board. The role is crucial in developing the company's legal and compliance strategies. Your responsibilities will include advising on contracts, resolving consumer disputes, and supporting commercial decision-making, ensuring the protection and advancement of the business. Key Responsibilities: Legal Guidance: Offer counsel on a variety of legal issues, including agreements with suppliers and customers, litigation, consumer matters, and property concerns. Contract Management: Create, review, and negotiate commercial contracts that support business goals while minimising legal risks. Litigation Oversight: Manage civil litigation claims from initiation to conclusion, handling all required documentation. Regulatory and Compliance Oversight: Partner with the Compliance and HR teams to uphold and enhance governance processes, policies, and standards. Strategic Collaboration: Work with lenders and external parties to negotiate terms, agreements, and resolve consumer-related issues. Internal Education: Design and conduct training sessions to provide teams with practical legal insights. External Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with external legal service providers to ensure cost-effective solutions. Regulatory Reporting: Support regulatory submissions and reporting, including FCA returns, in collaboration with internal departments. You should be a qualified solicitor with 2+ years of post-qualification experience in corporate, commercial, or consumer law. This is a permanent opportunity with a starting salary dependant on experience. You must have current UK right to work to be considered.
