In-Site Engineering Stores Manager

to oversee and optimise the store operation at a busy manufacturing site.

The In-Site Engineering Stores Manager will make a tangible impact to drive change within the Engineering Stores and improve service delivery to internal customers.

The In-Site Engineering Stores Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the stores operation. From overseeing goods receipt and inventory control to developing a high-performing team, they will play a pivotal role in enhancing efficiency and delivering exceptional service. Additionally, they will spearhead the engineering inventory strategy and contribute to working capital reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Store Operations Management:

Oversee all aspects of the engineering stores, including goods receipt, warehousing, inventory control, and product sourcing. Team Leadership:

Lead, develop, and mentor a small, dedicated Stores team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Stakeholder Collaboration:

Build strong relationships with the client and key stakeholders, ensuring materials are available to meet operational needs. Inventory Optimization:

Manage stock inventory using techniques such as cycle counting, stock checks, and FIFO to maintain optimal levels. Performance Reporting:

Report on weekly and monthly KPIs to demonstrate process control, compliance, and improvement. Cost-Saving Initiatives:

Identify, drive, and implement cost-saving opportunities within the stores operation. Continuous Improvement:

Champion continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency. Health & Safety Compliance:

Ensure all health and safety requirements are met and maintain best practices in housekeeping.

Key Skills and Experience:

Proven Experience:

Significant experience in an Engineering Stores Management role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Leadership Skills:

Demonstrated ability to develop, motivate, and lead successful teams. Change Agent:

Passionate about driving change and continuous improvement initiatives. Communication Expertise:

Strong communication and relationship-building skills with colleagues and stakeholders. Customer Focused:

Results-driven with a strong commitment to delivering excellent service. Technical Knowledge:

Experienced in logistical/material supply methodologies, including Lean principles. Organizational Skills:

Strong planning and problem-solving abilities with a track record of autonomous decision-making. System Proficiency:

Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management tools.
