The role involves conducting machining activities on-board submarine units, using machines best suited to the task in accordance with the skills of the relevant In-situ Machinist. You will work to drawing tolerances/parameters and quality requirements, ensuring all work is conducted in accordance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Core Duties: Work safely at all times, complying with Health and Safety and other relevant regulations and guidelines. Follow the relevant instructions, drawings and any other specifications to produce work to the correct quality standards. Use appropriate methods and techniques to conduct machining activities. Check completed activities to ensure that all operations meet the required specifications. Use associated tools and equipment safely and effectively.

Awareness of cleanliness and material segregation requirements. Flange facing operations. Line boring operations. In-Situ Milling operations. Pipe cutting/Bevelling operations. Journal Turning. Key Milling.
Qualifications: Served and Approved Apprenticeship (In-situ machinist, Machinist, Mechanical, Fitter/Turner). NVQ Level 3 Equivalent Qualification.
About the Team: You will be working in a team of between 10-12 people.
