Grade 5, SCP 8 – 12 £25,992 - £27,711 p.a. pro rata Hours of Work/Working Pattern:

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is organised and can work methodically to monitor rent accounts and ensure payments are made on time. The post holder is also responsible for contacting tenants by phone, letter or in person to agree appropriate repayment schedules. About You You will need: Experience of working in a customer focussed environment Experience of record keeping and office systems Working within a pressurised environment Experience of working with vulnerable clients Experience of Court procedure and presentation Understanding of civil debt recovery processes and procedures Ability to negotiate with difficult customers to achieve agreed outcomes Up to date knowledge of general housing and tenancy law Knowledge of rent accounting, rent arrears or other income/debt management An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse range of customers and enquiries A good team player Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with people who may be angry and frustrated in a way which is both sympathetic but firm Good written skills with ability to write and complete correspondence, forms and reports both clearly and accurately IT literate 5 GCSE’s grade C or above to include Maths and English Commitment to Council’s core values Commitment to equal opportunities Flexible and adaptable approach to work Ability to work alone and as part of a team To be self-motivated To be firm but fair Positive attitude towards customers and external bodies Ability to drive/travel throughout the Vale or between locations as appropriate Ability to respect confidentiality of information from clients Ability to remain calm, polite and work effectively under pressure Ability to adapt to diverse customer base Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload Additional Information DBS Check Required: No For Further Information, contact: Alison Wood, 01446 709879 / 07964033060, awood@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk Please see attached job description/person specification for further information.
