JOB SUMMARY The Independent Domestic Violence Advocate will help to connect children and young people who have witnessed and experienced domestic abuse to the necessary emotional and therapeutic support.
JOB DESCRIPTION The duties and responsibilities of the role will include: You will carry out initial screening, complete safety planning, and provide ongoing emotional and practical support to victims/survivors. Victims/survivors' views and needs are the focus of the service, ensuring that their safety, wellbeing, and freedom sits at the core of all work that we do. You will make proactive contact with perpetrators of domestic abuse and use motivational interviewing to encourage them to address their abusive behaviours by accessing our in-house Spotlight Programme.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies: To have experience working in domestic abuse and its impact on victims/survivors, including children and young people.
