Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to work full time based in Slough.

The salary for this permanent Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) job is up to £56,805.00 per annum.

Main duties: To ensure that safe, high-quality services are delivered to children and young people who require a multi-agency CP response and those who are looked after by the Local Authority, and to alert the responsible line managers in the Borough and partner agencies to any identified concerns. To chair CP conferences, Looked After Children reviews and other complex meetings (e.g. strategy meetings, placement disruption meetings) in accordance with government guidance and local procedures. To ensure that children and young people participate appropriately in the meetings, and that their wishes and feelings are always fully considered and appropriately weighted, alongside the views of parents, carers and the input of multi-agency professionals. To ensure that all children reviewed have an effective Looked After Childcare Plan or Child Protection Plan which clarifies the objectives to be met, by whom, within what timescale and the actions to be taken if they are not met. To implement and monitor agreed quality standards, performance indicators and outcomes, as agreed with responsible managers, ensuring that these meet local and national targets. To assist in the collection of a range of statistical and other data. To provide and present reports as required. To offer support and advice to staff involved in Looked After Children/Child Protection work. To record all such consultations with staff and to feed these into the line management process. To contribute to service planning and to the promotion and review of the service to meet the changing priorities of the department in line with the Government and local agenda. To take an active part in inter-agency forums, including participating in the planning and delivery of relevant training and CP Reports. Requirements of this Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO): A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent. Understanding of relevant legislation. Registered or eligible for registration.
