This role is a hybrid position based in Leamington Spa 3 days per week, and you may also be required on occasion to attend our sites in Bicester and Guildford. As a Buyer within the Indirect Procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of IT software licenses and hardware, crucial to the organization’s IT infrastructure. Reporting to the Indirect Purchasing Manager, you will handle sourcing, contract negotiations, and supplier management to deliver cost-effective procurement solutions while ensuring adherence to company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. We would like you to: Lead procurement activities specific to IT software licenses (e.g., SaaS, enterprise software) and IT hardware (e.g., servers, laptops, networking equipment). Create and implement category strategies for IT software and hardware to align procurement efforts with the organisation’s technology and business goals. Oversee contract management from onboarding through lifecycle renewal, ensuring adherence to terms, amendments, and compliance with software licensing models and hardware warranties. Identify and execute opportunities for cost savings in software licensing (e.g., bundling licenses, optimising usage) and hardware procurement (e.g., vendor consolidation, blanket orders). Implement procurement strategies that balance cost control with technological requirements and performance. Assess and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions, legal and contractual risks, and ethical considerations. Work closely with IT, finance, and legal teams to align procurement with the company’s technology strategy and budget constraints. Provide insights on licensing agreements, hardware specifications, and procurement trends, advising stakeholders on best practices for IT sourcing. Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimisation within the procurement function. Implement initiatives to streamline procurement workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and drive cost savings. We would like you to have: 2+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in indirect procurement. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Strong negotiation skills, particularly in software license terms and hardware procurement agreements. Familiarity with procurement tools and technologies, including eSourcing platforms, ERP systems, and IT asset management tools. In-depth understanding of software licensing models, hardware procurement cycles, and IT market trends. Knowledge of IT contract law, data privacy, and regulatory compliance specific to software and hardware procurement is preferred. Exposure to working within IT software licenses and hardware categories (preferred). Our Process: Screen with a member of our TA team (Phone/Teams Call). Interview with Hiring Manager (Teams Call). Face to Face interview with the hiring manager and a team member.
