Role Overview The Industrial Placement Engineer role is designed to provide students studying Civil or Structural Engineering with a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop skills within a dynamic and innovative organisation. This 12-month placement offers exposure to diverse projects, supported learning, and mentorship from industry professionals. Duties and Responsibilities Project Support : Assist with site investigations and the implementation of engineering projects. Provide technical support to the project delivery team to ensure successful completion of works. Contribute to the preparation of daily site records and productivity reports. Compliance and Quality Assurance : Ensure adherence to design information, systems, procedures, and quality control processes. Maintain a strong understanding of customer requirements and quality assurance mechanisms to ensure projects meet standards. Communication and Collaboration : Liaise effectively with colleagues, architects, subcontractors, consultants, and clients. Actively participate in team meetings and communicate progress and challenges to mentors and line managers. Problem-Solving and Innovation : Identify and resolve design and development issues using both logical and creative thinking. Leverage appropriate digital tools to support project objectives and enhance delivery. Skills and Experience: Essential Currently studying for a bachelor's or master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, having completed at least two years of the course. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to apply technical expertise effectively. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and overcome challenges. Competent in Microsoft Office software and capable of preparing clear, concise reports. Highly motivated and able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. A valid UK driving licence. Desirable Previous exposure to civil or structural engineering projects through internships or coursework. Familiarity with digital engineering tools and software.
