As the Industrial Safety Manager, you will be responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the Safety strategy in line with the objectives and direction of the UKBU.
Role Overview: Responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the Safety strategy in line with objectives and direction of the UKBU. Interpret this strategy in the promotion of the Industrial Safety, environment, and quality model at an individual station and within the wider safety framework, ensuring that physical and emotional wellbeing is the utmost priority. Work closely with the Industrial Safety Director and the Site Leadership team to contribute to the development of operational delivery of all health and safety programmes. Responsible for the collation of monthly reports and policy, guidance, and operating procedure development to support operational delivery of all health and safety programmes. Ensure that the site under your responsibility operates to the highest standards of health and safety management by delivering this BU safety strategy and engaging at all levels to ensure continuous improvement, world-class performance, and the development of a positive safety culture. Support incident investigations and ensure sites are supported in the prompt closure of all actions related to these incidents. Be a subject matter expert in key areas of safety compliance for the contract, owning the procedure and associated documents for the area of expertise and enabling the operations team to have embedded SMEs.
Essential Criteria: NEBOSH Diploma ISO 9001 internal auditor training ISO 14001 internal auditor training and/or environmental foundation management certification (IEMA/NEBOSH equivalent) Working knowledge of UK and EU safety and environmental regulations Working knowledge of management standards 45001, 9001, 14001
