As the Infant Feeding Specialist Lead Midwife, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting new parents through their infant feeding journey. You will lead initiatives to promote breastfeeding and ensure that all families receive personalised, expert care tailored to their needs. Your expertise and passion will be integral to shaping our infant feeding policies and practices. Main duties of the job

Lead in collaboration with the PRUH Infant Feeding Lead Specialist Midwife to achieve and maintain the standards for UNICEF baby friendly accreditation bespoke standards for NWAFT maternity unit. Be responsible for the development of systems of assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating breast feeding advice and support given to the mothers and families of all babies being born at North West Anglia Trust Hospital, to ensure care provided is of the highest quality and research based. Ensure policies, guidelines, procedures and leaflets are updated on a regular basis and changes disseminated to staff as may be required. Work closely with the neonatal unit in targeting support and advice to mothers with babies at risk: twins, small for gestational age, borderline premature, babies of diabetic mothers etc. Working for our organisation

Education and Qualifications

Registered Midwife Educated to degree level or equivalent Post registration training in Infant feeding / UNICEF courses Experience

Minimum of 2 years Midwifery experience Evidence of continuing professional development Evidence in undertaking professional responsibility for coordinating the women pathways of care Relevant experience in Infant feeding / supporting feeding choices Knowledge

Ability to demonstrate understanding of professional accountability and clinical governance Key Skills

Evidence of Multi-disciplinary knowledge and working Ability to teach and present to wider audiences To be computer efficient and be able to mobilise data Infant feeding specialist clinic experience Other

Awareness and respect for colleagues, patients and relatives cultural, religious and emotional needs and beliefs Able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trusts Values and Behaviours Be prepared to work across sites as and when required Professional appearance & behaviour Good previous attendance record Satisfactory enhanced DBS check against vulnerable groups barred lists
