Support the operational team with all aspects of IPC relevant to their care group and wider Trust as directed.
The post holder will be expected to travel to sites within their care group and as directed from a specified base in order to carry out the role effectively.
Build positive professional working relationships with all key stakeholders involved in the provision of services and service users.
Represent the IPC team at relevant care group meetings.
Main duties of the job
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide support to the Head of IPC in delivering the infection prevention and control service annual work programme or plan.
To assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of evidence-based policies across the organisation.
To lead by example and act as a positive role model for all staff, taking responsibility for own professional development.
To communicate and maintain links with external stakeholders to promote the reduction of healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs).
Contribute to and support clinical effectiveness and innovative practice within the infection prevention and control service.
The post holder will practice under the direction of the Head of IPC, working towards achieving agreed levels of competence, skills and knowledge to enable independent autonomous practice within their scope of clinical practice.
