ID Specialist Nurse Band 6 Specialist Infectious Diseases Service Are you a children's nurse who really wants to make a difference? Are you seeking a role that is rewarding, autonomous, and makes a real impact on families affected by infectious disorders and diseases? Then look no further. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic children's nurse with experience of working with children, young people, and families living with acute or chronic diseases to take up the post of Band 6 Specialist Nurse in infectious diseases. Experience of working across acute wards/community care at Band 6 level would be beneficial but not essential. It is not anticipated that the successful candidate will have knowledge or experience of ID, and full educational and developmental opportunities will be given within the role. If you join our team of specialist nurses, you will be working as part of a small established multidisciplinary team. There will be exciting opportunities to participate in pioneering research, audit, and to attend relevant conferences. The post will also provide opportunities to develop your communication, teaching, and liaison skills. Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will be working as part of the Infectious Diseases (ID) Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) team and will provide support to the ID Clinical Nurse Specialists. The post holder will be required to work across all aspects of the ID subspecialties mainly consisting of Hepatitis, TB, HIV, Congenital CMV infections, patients with Kawasaki's disease, as well as children presenting with Covid-19 and PIMS-TS. This post will also provide support to the ID in-patients and outpatients service. The successful candidate will: Have relevant clinical experience in an acute or community environment Be flexible and reliable Be competent in making clinical decisions based on best practice guidelines Have a passion for learning new skills and taking on daily challenges Although applicants may not have specific knowledge or experience with ID, full training and developmental opportunities will be given once in the role.
