Job Overview PLEASE NOTE:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified nurse to join the ULHT trust-wide IBD nursing team. The post is an integral part of the gastroenterology multi-disciplinary team caring for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
The nursing service is led by a Band 8a lead nurse practitioner, supported by two Band 7 IBD clinical nurse specialists, a Band 3 Biologics Co-ordinator, and this post will be one of two Band 6 nurses.
Main Duties of the Job We are looking for a highly motivated, committed, confident, enthusiastic nurse, ideally with gastroenterology or related experience, to join our dynamic team providing high-quality patient care across our Hospital sites. This post will be predominantly based on the Pilgrim Hospital, Boston site.
The post holder will contribute to the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Nursing Service in collaboration with the Lead IBD NP, Consultant Gastroenterologists, ward staff, and other health professionals.
They will assess, plan, and deliver evidence-based care for patients through the effective and efficient use of resources within clearly defined protocols and guidelines. Nurse-led clinics, telephone and email advice service, MDT meetings, biologic and immunomodulator monitoring are just a snapshot of the varied duties this role encompasses.
Person Specification Qualifications
Registered General Nurse
Degree or working towards degree level education
998 or equivalent teaching qualification
Evidence of continued professional development
Evidence-based research/care
Counselling course
GCP/Research qualification/experience
Previous Experience
Previous experience in gastroenterology/colorectal
An understanding of aetiology, pathogenesis of IBD, pharmaceutical knowledge, medical and surgical intervention.
Understanding of nutrition and IBD
Experience of multidisciplinary team working
Teaching of other health care professionals
Experience of teaching in the practice setting
Experience of undertaking clinical audit
Experience of working as an autonomous practitioner.
Evidence of implementing changes in practice
Knowledge of IBD
Well-developed interpersonal skills
Highly motivated and able to work on own initiative
Leadership and motivational skills
Diplomatic
Ability to lead and introduce change
