The post-holder is the Specialist Midwife for Patient Information and Communications for the maternity services providing essential communication to staff and service users. They will have primary day-to-day responsibility to draft and disseminate information to staff, services users, and the wider public, as required. They will act as a central point of contact for maternity communications such as the website, patient information, as well as sharing learning from national reports, audit, risks incidents and complaints, ensuring these are distributed in an engaging and meaningful format.

Continue the maternity website development project and general upkeep of the website.

Main duties of the job

Develop creative and innovative ways of sharing information across maternity. Develop creative and innovative ways of sharing information to the maternity team and to service users (including new projects, changes in practice, reports etc.).

Person Specification

Education and Qualification

Essential Registered Midwife (NMC) Ability to contribute to team working and develop good working relationships Experience of working in the NHS Evidence of continuous and recent professional development

Desirable ECDL or proven equivalent experience in MS Package, Email and Internet browsers. Advanced keyboard use and the ability to apply IT skills effectively Working knowledge / experience of multiagency working Proficiency with spreadsheets, database and presentation software Participation in service development project

Experience

Essential Experience of working in the NHS Evidence of continuous and recent professional development

Desirable Registered Midwife (NMC) Working knowledge / experience of multiagency working Able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy
