The Information Governance Manager operationally supports the Head of Information Governance to maintain and deliver the information governance work programme including but not limited to:

Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT)

Data Protection Act and UK GDPR compliance, including but not limited to:

Data Subjects Rights

Data Protection Impact Assessments

Information Asset Register

Common Law Duty of Confidentiality

Records Management

Freedom of Information

Data Security and confidentiality

Information sharing

The post holder will manage the Information Governance Team to deliver its core work activities, including meeting compliance deadlines for Data Subject Rights and Freedom of Information requests.

Main Duties of the Job

Operational support to the Head of Information Governance.

Management of the Information Governance Team.

Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and deadlines.

Person Specification Qualifications

Evidence of Degree level education or equivalent.

Information Governance or Data Protection Qualification.

Experience

Previous experience in an NHS Information Governance setting.

Additional Criteria

Expert knowledge and understanding of the principles of the Data Protection Act, GDPR, Freedom of Information Act, NHS Code of Confidentiality, EIR, and other IG legislation.

Expert knowledge of Caldicott Principles, Patient Confidentiality, Information Security, Records Management, and Information Sharing.
