Information Management (IM) defines, implements, and adapts the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and Information Systems (IS) strategy to the needs of the business and users. The IS Engineering Solutions team works as part of IS to support the programmes and transformation activities. Responsibilities:

The IS Engineering Solutions team supports an international programme to deliver a new generation missile. Responsibilities include collaboration with key partners in UK Defence and abroad, assessing needs according to the IM End to End Process, and ensuring compliance with Technical Quality and Results. Interaction with counterparts in key partners for Enterprise goals Assess compliance with Enterprise standards and identify activities to improve internal tooling Lead Business Case creation Participate in agile scrums Assist in creating feasible projects Propose or validate key technical solutions and lead design reviews Identify and mitigate solution risks Provide subject matter expertise for issues and opportunities Gather and disseminate technical lessons learned The Solution Architect is responsible for supporting various stakeholders within the scope of the programmes, performing Business Analysis and Solution Design, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships. Skillset/experience required:

Essential - Designing technical solutions to meet business needs within security constraints Essential - Documenting designs clearly from an architectural perspective Advantageous - Lifecycle of information systems including acquisition and development of new technology Advantageous - Application integration approaches, e.g., use of OLSC Advantageous - Awareness of industry infrastructure and operating standards such as SQL, DB2, Active Directory, Virtual Machines, WebSphere A broad level of Technical IT knowledge and expertise in developing concepts and scoping enterprise systems and services, especially in integrating disparate solutions in a defence environment. Excellent problem-solving skills and proven Business Analyst and Project Management skills. Ability to communicate technical information effectively and self-organise while working towards common goals.
