Your responsibilities To be part of the team that is responsible for the Information Management service provided to colleagues of Uniper Asset Services, both in the UK and Germany, and to the wider Uniper community. Uniper is seeking to appoint a full-time Graduate Trainee Information Management Assistant on a one-year fixed term contract. The post is for an applicant to carry out a year of work experience and training, prior to attending a postgraduate library course or a related field such as knowledge management, archives & records management or museums studies. This is an opportunity to work in one of the few remaining energy industry libraries in the UK. It has a mission to preserve sector-related information and intellectual property while providing information services to support the energy transition and the decarbonisation of the company’s assets. The successful candidate will have the chance to gain practical hands-on experience of working in a busy technical and engineering information service covering all aspects of service provision. Your responsibilities include: Answering requests for information from colleagues Cataloguing, photocopying and scanning documents Day-to-day operation of the Library Management System Filing and maintaining a large collection of company documentation Ordering conference papers and journal articles Supporting the delivery of a fortnightly newsletter Updating the Information Management pages on the intranet Your profile It is essential that candidates have: An Undergraduate Degree in any subject or a related field such as knowledge management, Archives & records management or museums Demonstrable interest in pursuing a postgraduate qualification in libraries, information or knowledge management. Good IT and customer service skills Enthusiasm, hardworking and flexibility Ability to work both as part of a team and independently as required Excellent attitude towards service delivery Willingness to learn and challenge yourself in a diverse environment This role is not suitable for candidates looking for IT or software development experience. Previous experience working in a library, archive or information management role is a plus, as well as past experience of dealing with customers and past research experience.
