IT Field Engineer (Hybrid)

to work based in

Rugby, CV23 . Four days per week onsite and one day per week remote from home. An

IT Field Engineer

will be responsible for providing on-site and remote technical support to users by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware and software issues. This role involves installing, maintaining, and upgrading IT systems while ensuring minimal downtime. Will often travel to different locations to perform duties and may be necessary to work irregular hours to address urgent issues. The salary is £35,000-£40,000 PA + COMPANY CAR OR CAR ALLOWANCE & EXPENSES. Key Responsibilities Technical Support Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on-site or remotely. Resolve network connectivity issues, including LAN/WAN configurations and wireless access. Assist clients with system upgrades, migrations, and maintenance. System Installation and Maintenance Install and configure hardware such as servers, computers, printers, and networking equipment. Perform regular maintenance to ensure the reliability and performance of IT systems. Ensure software installations comply with licensing agreements. Networking and Security Set up and configure routers, switches, and firewalls. Monitor network performance and address issues to maintain optimal operations. Implement security measures to protect client systems from threats. Client Support and Training Provide user training and support to ensure efficient use of IT systems. Maintain excellent communication with users, ensuring their needs are met promptly. Document issues and resolutions for future reference. Project Management Participate in IT infrastructure projects, including rollouts and upgrades. Coordinate with other teams or vendors to ensure successful project delivery. Qualifications and Skills Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred). Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Technical Skills Proficiency in diagnosing hardware/software issues and system repair. Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux). Familiarity with networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Understanding of IT security principles and tools. Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Experience 2-5 years of experience in a technical support or IT field engineering role. Previous experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems is a plus. Travel to different business sites as required. On-call availability to address urgent issues. Ability to lift, move and install the IT equipment when necessary. Package:

23 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays, company car or car allowance, hybrid working, based in Rugby with occasional travel to other sites.
