Job Purpose

The Infrastructure Engineer, driven by a passion for technology and innovation, plays an essential role in the RWS Real Estate program aimed at office downsizing and closures. This role focuses on decommissioning office infrastructure, covering both virtual and physical layers. Responsibilities include traveling to various locations to conduct migrations or decommissioning tasks and remotely managing local engineers and third-party vendors as needed. In addition to project-based work, the Infrastructure Engineer will also provide support for the ongoing Data Centre Migration program during off-project periods. Start Date: ASAP Job Overview

Key Responsibilities VMware: Manage and maintain vSphere/ESXi, vCloud platform Operating Systems: Proficient in both Windows Server and Linux. Analyze and resolve problems associated with the operating system's servers, hardware, applications, and software Server Back-End Infrastructure: Responsible for the configuration, maintenance, monitoring, administration, and support of server back-end infrastructure Backup and Recovery Procedures: Implement, configure, maintain, and monitor system and data backup, restore, backup archiving, and system recovery procedures Monitoring: Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues. Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability Technical Documentation: Develop and update technical documentation as required Service Level and Operational Performance: Meet and exceed all metrics in server operation service level and operational performance Skills & Experience Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer or similar role in a global company Strong knowledge of VMware platforms (vSphere/ESXi, vCloud) Proficiency in Windows Server and/or Linux operating systems Experience with server infrastructure In-depth knowledge of Operating Systems (Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS) In-depth knowledge of endpoint management including Workstation imaging, Application packaging and distribution, remote workstation management, Certificates Authorities, RBAC and Access Management Familiarity with system and data backup and recovery procedures Knowledge of data replication processes An aptitude to tackle and own a challenge through to its conclusion Thinking outside the box, open mind to new tools and changing processes Ideas generator and innovator: always asking Why? How? Self-starter requiring little supervision to complete tasks independently, curious, self-developer. Proven ability to create solutions for a variety of projects Strong communication skills and the ability to develop and update technical documentation Experience with automation and scripting using PowerShell and Ansible Commitment to continuous improvement and cost optimization Adhere to development and release principles, setting standards for build quality, versioning, documentation, testing and release strategy
