Infrastructure Engineering Lead - Submarines

Full Time

Derby - Raynesway

Why Rolls-Royce?

We have an exciting opportunity for an

Infrastructure Engineering Lead

to join the Infrastructure Design Authority (IDA). At Raynesway in Derby and supporting satellite sites, we are undertaking a significant redevelopment and expansion to provide new buildings and infrastructure in support of propulsion systems for submarines in the Royal Navy and Australia.

We're a leader in propulsion system design and development for the Royal Navy's nuclear submarine fleet and the sole provider and technical authority.

Join us and we'll provide an environment where you can be yourself. An inclusive, digital-first culture that invests in you, gives you a platform for continuous learning, and access to an incredible breadth and depth of opportunities to grow your career.

You will be embedded within one of our major projects on behalf of the Infrastructure Design Authority as the key Engineering point of contact. This role will be conducted utilising a Systems Engineering approach to define and manage interdependencies between systems to meet the requirements and to ensure the design intent is maintained throughout the asset build lifecycle. You will also act as the key interface for the Design Authority and Business Information Modelling (BIM) departments, managing all Engineering artefacts in both directions.

We offer excellent development, a competitive salary and exceptional benefits. These include bonus, employee support assistance and employee discounts.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It's a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we're all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average at least three days per week.

What you will be doing:

Elicit, validate and manage all stakeholder technical requirements including regulatory, business, customer, and external partners. Define key systems & coordinate activities across stakeholders to define and manage interdependencies between systems. Lead and manage the functional interfaces internally and/or externally to ensure that appropriate governance is in place throughout the engineering lifecycle processes to assure the highest professional standards are met. Assure that the design is in line with the requirements, and the design intent is maintained throughout the project build lifecycle. Be the Engineering lead/Interface for the Infrastructure Design Authority into this major project, managing all key artefacts.

Who we're looking for:

At Rolls-Royce we embrace agility, are bold, pursue collaboration and seek simplicity in everything we do. These principles form our values and behaviours and are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles. Qualified to degree level or equivalent in an Engineering discipline. Systems Engineering experience on major projects. Infrastructure design & build experience desirable. Demonstrate sound Engineering judgement. Good communication, presentation skills and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment. We are an equal opportunities employer. We're committed to developing a diverse workforce and an inclusive working environment. We believe that people from different backgrounds and cultures give us different perspectives.

And the more perspectives we have, the more successful we'll be. By building a culture of respect and appreciation, we give everyone who works here the opportunity to realise their full potential. To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to

hold a Security Check (SC) clearance

without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently already have this in place.

Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you

must hold a UK nationality . Any dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with RRSL. Job Category:
