Technical Sales Engineer (Home Based)

An established and successful Engineering company is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer with a background in solutions sales within the Process industry or Infrastructure Construction to cover the North of England.

Based from home and operating within the Process Manufacturing & Capital Infrastructure sectors, you will identify, quantify, and prioritize industry and infrastructure projects and network with project influencers (owners, specifiers, engineers, contractors, or resellers) so that the company's products are specified and approved for use on them.

Working with new and dormant accounts, you will present the company's solutions to specifying engineers (electrical, control, instrumentation, mechanical, structural) via technical presentations, site visits, installation training, and promotion with resellers, concentrating on supplying electrical-based solutions to projects that include Turbines and Generators, Rotating Machines, Integrated Switchgear Housings/Enclosures, Acoustic Housings, Pumps, Compressors, and Temporary Power.

You will drive sustainable sales growth through gaining engineering specifications for the company's solutions and delivering world-class support throughout the project lifecycle. You will create and execute targeted sales plans for multi-year engineering and construction projects, plan and manage all customer contacts and meetings within the CRM system, and provide routine, accurate, and meaningful market information, forecasting, and product planning to management.

KEY SKILLS

The successful candidate will ideally have a Degree / HND or similar qualification in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline, with a minimum of 3 years' professional sales experience and a successful track record of presenting complex and/or technical solutions to decision makers, specifying engineers, and/or multi-million-pound project managers. You will have some experience of building working relationships within engineering and design firms and have a good knowledge of electrical, controls, automation, and/or mechanical systems for industrial and infrastructure applications.

Good interpersonal skills coupled with a strong understanding of industrial business practices and effective sales techniques are essential. You must be able to develop, manage, and perform to a sales and business plan, as well as demonstrate a proven ability and confidence to prepare and present solutions and strategies to groups of co-workers, clients, or prospects.

A proven ability to manage long-term and complex sales projects to success and the ability to travel internationally on occasion is also needed. You must hold a full driving license and passport.
