£60,000 - £70,000 dependent on experienceFinance ManagerSalary £60 – 70,000 dependent on experience Permanent Hybrid – Home and Hub (London/Kent) At Saga, we are looking for a Finance Manager to join our Insurance Finance team supporting Saga Services Limited (SSL)As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for Saga Services Limiteds month-end process, including all aspects of general ledger accounting and reporting. You will work within the R2R team and the rest of the FR&C team.Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will have responsibility for and take ownership of the production and delivery of all internal and external financial reporting requirements, including, but not limited to, preparation of the statutory financial statements, oversight and management of SSLs balance sheet, and liaising with both internal and external auditors.You will work closely with the rest of the FR&C team, supporting the improvement of processes and the quality of financial information.Collaboration is important to us at Saga, and our Insurance Finance team typically meets twice a month at our hubs in London or Kent. Role ResponsibilityAs the Finance Manager, you will lead SSLs month-end process, including creating the monthly balance sheet pack, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, and monitoring the progress of associated actions. You will be accountable for the following areas:
Preparation of annual statutory accounts for SSL while liaising with company auditors to facilitate and monitor responses to the SSL audit plan and providing input into the Saga plc Group Annual Report and Accounts and Interim StatementSupport the Financial Controller in the maintenance of a robust control environment and the enhancement and testing of the financial control frameworkBecome the lead contact for external audit and facilitate the provision of information as requiredContribute to the production of regulatory reporting, including RMAR and others as requiredSupport with the preparation of accounting memos and different internal and external papers including Audit Committee, Executive Committee and Board papers throughout the year where relevant.Build excellent working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, including colleagues across finance, internal and external audit.Show curiosity to continually review and improve the control and process environment of the businessProvide adhoc support as requiredSupport system development, implementation and change to deliver process improvement and enhanced management reportingCoach and develop other team members, leading by example and providing motivation within both SSL Finance and the wider Saga Finance teamThe Ideal CandidateAs the Finance Manager within our Insurance Brokering business, you will be an ACA, ACCA, or CIMA-qualified accountant with demonstrable experience in the Insurance industry.Other skills and experience include:
