Process Simplification and Optimisation (PSO) provides groundbreaking tools to deliver sustainable business value. About your role As a member of the Process Simplification and Optimisation Delivery, you will be part of a Scrum team comprising process analysts and SMEs from the business function to develop and implement simplified and optimised processes. Key Responsibilities Development Good technical skills on orchestration and automation tools like Xtrac, Blue Prism, Appian, or FIL in-house tools/platforms. Supports the analysis and build of processes from a technical perspective. Performs development activity in accordance with the methodologies and standards set by the CoE. Seeks guidance from the Process Optimisation designer when facing complex tasks. Provides status to Delivery Leads on the progress of development through tools like Jira. Carries out change impact assessments for both process change and system-driven change. Prepares necessary documentation, release notes, deployment guides, and operational materials required for production deployment. Provides defect fix support and works with the Governance and Technical Learning Manager to understand lessons learned. Follows Agile ways of working and adherence to Scrum practices. Provides support through all phases of implementation. Develops capability to quickly learn additional software tools like Informatica. Testing Prepares and performs unit and process testing liaising with SMEs and process optimisation analysts. Performs testing of automated processes ahead of their release into production. Applies the testing principles and processes as defined by the PSO CoE. Facilitates user acceptance testing. Records and communicates defects to be resolved. Supports remediation of defects as required. About you Experience on XTRAC platform. Experience in a programming language such as Python, Java, C, C++ (desirable). Hands-on experience in Restful API development and application integration using APIs (desirable). Experience using database technologies, and comfortable writing SQL (desirable). Experience developing and testing software (desirable). Understanding of orchestration and automation technologies (desirable). Knowledge of business process modelling and reengineering (desirable). Awareness of standard system development lifecycle processes (e.g., agile, waterfall) (desirable). Proven track record in a similar role would be advantageous. Excellent PC and MS Office skills, especially MS Excel. Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload with attention to detail. Commitment to high standards of excellence and integrity. Resilient, energetic, and enthusiastic; able to work under pressure. Able to build strong relationships with peers and stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, comfortable with communicating to people of all levels. Education: First degree level (Bachelor’s degree) or equivalent, or on course to finish one.
