EG On The Move About the role: We are seeking an MFT Interface Engineer to manage and optimise our file transfer and interface systems, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient data flow across internal and external platforms. This role involves overseeing SFTP accounts, interface storage, and archiving while collaborating with IT and data teams to integrate these systems seamlessly into broader data pipelines. The ideal candidate is a technical expert in MFT platforms, skilled in scripting and automation, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration. Develop, implement, and fine-tune file transfer jobs and workflows to ensure efficient and reliable data movement. Interface Storage Management:
Oversee interface storage, archiving, and lifecycle management, ensuring data availability and compliance with retention policies. Proactive Monitoring:
Create and manage dashboards to continuously monitor the health of file transfer interfaces, identifying and resolving issues before they impact operations. Seamless Integration:
Collaborate with the data team to incorporate MFT workflows into larger data pipelines, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Comprehensive Documentation:
Maintain up-to-date, detailed documentation for all interfaces, workflows, and system configurations to support operational clarity and knowledge sharing. Compliance and Security:
Ensure all file transfer processes comply with regulatory requirements and organizational policies, including configuring encryption and secure protocols (e.g., SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS) for all data transfers. Continuous Improvement:
Regularly review and refine systems and processes to enhance performance, reliability, and compliance with evolving standards. Essential: Expertise in MFT Platforms:
Deep technical knowledge of Managed File Transfer (MFT) systems, including their configuration and optimisation. Storage and Archiving Proficiency:
Solid understanding of storage management, archiving strategies, and best practices for data retention. Secure Transfer Protocols:
Familiarity with secure file transfer protocols (e.g., SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS) and encryption methods to ensure data security and compliance. Automation Skills:
Hands-on experience with coding or scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) to build and maintain automated workflows. Data Workflow Expertise:
Strong understanding of data integration concepts and the role of file transfers within larger data pipelines. Analytical and Troubleshooting Ability:
Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges. Desirable: Experience with data pipeline tools or ETL processes. Familiarity with compliance frameworks like PCI DSS, GDPR. Knowledge of database systems and query languages (e.g. SQL). Prior experience in a role involving cross-functional collaboration between IT and data teams. Ability to create dashboards for interface health and operational monitoring.
