Interim Counsel / Head of Legal (Construction)

A well-established global luxury brand which has significant international operations in the leisure & hospitality space currently has an immediate need for interim support in the form of a Senior Counsel/Head of Legal (Construction & Real Estate). Primarily, this role will be the legal lead supporting the Construction and Design team, overseeing legal issues globally relating to the entire property portfolio, construction projects and any construction disputes. There will also be opportunities to get involved in the real estate and construction aspects of M&A deals the company is undertaking as well as undertaking global risk management for these areas also. The head office is based in Central London and due to the nature of the contract there is significant flexibility for working location (although you will likely want to be in commutable distance for London to be onsite for any important meetings). Initially it is envisaged that this contract will last 3-6 months (and can start immediately in December). What’s on offer? The company has an extremely diverse property portfolio and significant multi-million pound construction projects. This is an ideal opportunity to leverage further experience in an interesting sector across broad geographies. Provisionally the company is open to consider candidates at a range of seniorities, and therefore day rates (umbrella). About you To be successful in the role, you would already need strong foundational experience in Construction and Property law, ideally this has been gained in multijurisdictional environments (or if limited to England & Wales you should be very comfortable on tackling the unknown and working with external legal providers for specialist input). For guidance purposes only, you are likely to have at least 6 - 7 years of PQE and this may have been gained predominantly in private practice or in-house. You will also ideally be available to work immediately (in December) or early January at the latest.
