We are working with an NHS organisation who are seeking to appoint an Interim Digital Procurement Manager for 12 months.

The organisation is looking for a credible and proven Procurement Professional to lead the procurement of a regional Converged Digital Imaging Platform. This organisation is part of a system that supports the delivery of the national imaging strategy.

The role will start ASAP and will be based in the Midlands, with hybrid working available for the successful candidate. The role will be remunerated at band 8a NHS Agency capped rates.

Key responsibilities will include:

Lead the project to deliver the digital enablers that will improve collaboration across the partner organisations; Ensure the delivery of capabilities and services required to deliver a modern and future-proofed digital imaging service embracing collaboration across participating organisations; Lead on the procurement project end to end including the identification of the procurement and commercial strategy, route to market design and execution of the procurement exercise in accordance with public procurement legislation; Support the programme and member organisations, working alongside the nominated project managers, with gaining the necessary internal and external approval for the programme to proceed through the necessary stages; Act as procurement lead for the implementation phase to go-live, managing the supplier relationship, and supporting the on-time project delivery and any change management activity required during this phase; Develop an IT procurement strategy and implementation of the agreed strategy, including getting buy-in; Lead on and manage the complex procurement/tender exercises, including the creation of tender and contract documentation; Provide specialist procurement knowledge including expert knowledge of all relevant commodities and supply markets; Digital Procurement Specialist with in-depth knowledge of supplier technology and services in the marketplace.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Degree level or relevant equivalent experience; Experience of working in a Procurement team and working in Clinical Digital IT Category Procurement; Track record of multi-organisation collaborative procurement; Demonstrable successful project management experience with proven ability to deliver complex high value projects on-time; Expertise encompassing contract, stakeholder & supplier management; Experience in Public Sector or NHS procurement; Knowledge of the application of UK procurement legislation/tendering processes & procedures; Credible expertise using online Tendering platforms such as Atamis; Experience of navigating Cabinet Office Spend Controls and other national approval mechanisms.
