An exciting interim opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join our client's team in Wolverhampton, starting immediately. In this key role, you will lead a dynamic finance team, ensuring compliance with statutory reporting, maintaining strong balance sheet controls, and managing essential financial functions, including AP and AR, Tax, Treasury, and Payroll.

Responsibilities of the Interim Financial Controller will include, but will not be limited to:

Lead and manage a finance team of 50+, fostering high performance and ensuring key deliverables are met Mentor and develop team members for continuous professional growth Oversee timely preparation of statutory accounts and manage audits to secure unqualified opinions Ensure balance sheet accuracy through reconciliations and robust internal controls Supervise AP, AR, Tax, Treasury, and Payroll operations, driving process improvements and system enhancements Act as a key liaison for stakeholders, providing financial insights to support strategic decisions Ensure compliance with financial regulations and implement effective risk mitigation strategies

The successful Interim Financial Controller will require the following skills and experience:

Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) Proven experience as a Financial Controller, ideally in interim or contract roles Skilled in leading large teams (50+) and managing statutory reporting, balance sheet control, and financial operations Strong leadership, organisational, and project management skills Analytical, proactive, and focused on continuous improvement Advanced proficiency in financial systems and tools

Flexible hybrid working arrangement, combining remote work with on-site presence at the Wolverhampton office as needed.
