This is the chance to take ownership of the day to day finance function in a near £100m turnover business based in Romford, Essex.
Our client is a leading construction business that has been around for decades and requires an Interim Head of Finance / Financial Controller for at least the next six months.
The role will be a number two in finance reporting into an experienced Finance Director. You will take ownership of the finance team whilst being versatile and adaptable to ever-changing circumstances in an industry that can be fast-paced and challenging on a daily basis.
Responsibilities: As an Interim Head of Finance your key responsibilities will be as follows: Produce and deliver a range of management reporting including management accounts, regular cashflow reports, budgets, margin analysis, etc. Full ownership of the P&L and Balance Sheet. Responsible for VAT/CIS/PAYE/PSA/corporation tax and deferred tax submissions. Business partner with commercial and operational teams to deliver project reporting that will enable ongoing client retention. Support new tenders and bids. Lead and mentor the finance team. Liaise and work with external parties such as clients, suppliers, subcontractors, credit insurance companies, sureties, brokers, banks, insurance companies, auditors and tax advisors, consultants as required.
Requirements: As the Interim Head of Finance, you will need to be the following: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). Ideally experienced within construction / real estate. Have a broad background in both technical and commercial accounting. Be adaptable to the needs of the business and be hands-on with the finance team when needed. The role will offer hybrid working and will initially be looked at on a six-month fixed-term contract, but we are open to a discussion to ensure it meets the needs of both the client and successful candidate.
