Assured Safety Recruitment is partnering with the UK division of a multinational organisation, a global leader in providing a range of logistics and related services. As the Interim Head of Health, Safety and Environment, you will be part of the UK&I team, ensuring their commitment to health, safety, and the environment is upheld.

As the Interim Head of Health, Safety and Environment, you will be responsible for developing and leading a progressive compliance strategy across the UK&I, close to 20 sites. This will involve managing the HSE and Compliance Team, ensuring all operations comply with relevant legislation and H&S standards, and producing all relevant management information, ISO systems recertification (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001), KPIs and statistics supporting H&S/Compliance performance.

Responsibilities:

Review existing management systems and design and implement improvements to promote the sharing and transfer of best practices in safety and health. Uphold existing accreditations in Health & Safety (H&S), Environmental, and Quality, including ISO accreditations. Partner with the HR Director to design a comprehensive training, learning, and development matrix for UK&I staff, covering all grades and roles. Ensure corporate global compliance standards adherence by liaising with Senior Group Risk and Compliance Stakeholders. Represent corporate compliance strategy externally, supporting joint initiatives with customers, and managing inquiries and investigations. Promptly report any legislative breaches that could harm the company's reputation to management and appropriate authorities, ensuring thorough follow-up. Build relationships and upskill Site Managers, Supervisors, and Team Leaders on their H&S responsibilities. Support the creation of complex risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work for specialist activities. Facilitate and supervise external audits.

Requirements: Strong management system review experience. ISO systems certification experience is essential. Previous experience in a Head of/ Group HSE role. Experience of managing a small HSE team. Strong presentation skills. Experience in a logistics or similar industrial/corporate setting. Qualified to Nebosh Diploma Level 6 or equivalent.
