The Transpennine Route Upgrade is a major investment to be made in the railway between York and Manchester via Leeds and Huddersfield. TRU is a multi-billion-pound, transformative, long-term railway infrastructure programme that will improve connectivity in the North. It will support economic growth in the North and deliver real benefits for passengers and communities along this pivotal rail artery. As the Interim Head of Quality for the West Alliance, you will provide strategic leadership for Construction Quality Assurance and Quality Management within the TRU West Alliance, working closely with the Civils, Rail Systems and S,P & C partners to ensure that all project outputs meet the highest industry standards. Reporting to the Alliance Engineering and Quality Director, your role will be pivotal in fostering a culture of Quality and ensuring this transformative project delivers 'right first time' and driving excellence in delivery. Your mission

Key Tasks: Setting the overall Quality Strategy for the TRU West Alliance. Undertakes Alliance Management Plan audits each period. Provide direct Line Management for the Senior Quality Manager and Records Assistant. Supports the Construction Quality Leadership Group and provides strategic guidance. Supports the Senior Leadership Committee chaired by the MD in TRUW and produces Quality reports for use at this committee. Primary Quality Liaison: Act as the primary quality liaison within the alliance, building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Network Rail, regulators, and industry bodies. Represents the Alliance Quality Function at the periodic monthly business reviews. Supports the Interdisciplinary teams within the Alliance (Civils, Rail Systems and S,P and C) with the quality reporting. Be an advocate of Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement and industry recognized Best Practices. Undertake regular PDR 1-2-1 conversations and manage staff development of direct reports. Collaborate with alliance members to resolve quality issues promptly and effectively, ensuring that the project remains on track. Who are we looking for?

Strong interpersonal skills to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Able to work well under pressure and to fixed reporting timescales. QA Management experience within the Construction or Engineering Industry. Relevant qualifications CQP/MCQI. Minimum 15 years Quality Management experience. What’s in it for you?
