Interim Head of Quality Assurance Children’s Social Care Initial 3-6 month interim contract Hybrid/remote working supported £500-£550 per day, Inside IR35 (via Umbrella) South West of England, Local Authority

As the interim Head of Quality Assurance Children’s Social Care you will take the strategic lead on designing, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance systems and processes to ensure quality of practice across the council’s children and young people’s services and across multi-agency services. Reporting into the Service Director, you will be responsible for managing an experienced team of managers and staff who are on an improvement journey to ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’. You will join at an exciting time and support the service while they look to appoint a permanent Head of Service. About your role as the Head of Service - Quality Assurance:

Strategic oversight of Conference service and IRO service, line managing QA Service Manager who oversee the CP Chairs, IROs, and Safeguarding. Strategic responsibility for learning and Development with close working alongside the PSW. Key link to the Safeguarding partnership; experience of managing Rapid reviews, submission of SiN’s, etc., would be beneficial, and support to the business manager required. Operational management of services, including leading and implementing policies, strategies, and projects to achieve service-specific outcomes. Oversight of Social Work academy. Your required experience as Head of Service - Quality Assurance:

More than 2 years’ experience at a minimum Senior manager level/Head of Service equivalent within a quality assurance/review role. Experience at Head of Service level across Quality Assurance and knowledge of what ‘good’ looks like or working within a service towards ‘good’. Social work qualification required; must have technical knowledge of performance within Children’s Services. Technical knowledge and understanding of reports and infrastructure for Children’s Social Care. Updated Enhanced DBS.
