Interim Part Time Head of Finance (outside IR35)

Sector: Social Housing Date Posted: 27/01/2025 Salary: £450 - £500 per day outside IR35 (small company) Are you an experienced senior finance professional with a passion for supporting small, impactful organisations? Do you thrive on delivering high-quality year-end financial statements and working collaboratively with skilled teams? Are you looking for a flexible, interim, part time contract that is outside IR35? A small, specialist Housing Association is seeking an Interim Part Time Head of Finance to provide vital leadership and expertise during a key period over year end. This is a part time, three-day-per-week, six-month contract with flexibility on working patterns, including one day a week in their London-based office. Key responsibilities include: Preparing and delivering Financial Statements for Year End. Overseeing and finalising the budget for the coming financial year, incorporating rent-setting. Leading on financial reporting for Board and Committee meetings, ensuring high-quality outputs. Liaising with auditors and managing the audit process. Providing hands-on support to a small, experienced finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. This is an opportunity to join an organisation with a strong sense of purpose and a respected reputation in the Housing sector. You’ll work with a highly experienced and collaborative finance team where systems and processes are already well-established. Additionally, the flexible working arrangements provide the freedom to balance professional and personal commitments. This contract will meet the small company exemption to IR35 and therefore the successful candidate can be paid via Ltd company if desired. To be considered, please meet the following criteria: Qualified accountant with experience in Housing sector accounting standards. Proven expertise in preparing Financial Statements and leading audits. Strong knowledge of budgeting processes, rent-setting, and committee reporting. Ability to lead and support a small team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Alignment with the values of diversity, inclusion, and community impact. This is a unique opportunity to provide interim leadership while working flexibly and making a real difference to a dynamic and specialist organisation.
