We are building a Sustainability team for a client, a commercial giant (a Fortune 500 business), alongside the Internal Audit & Assurance team. This team will be responsible for contributing towards driving sustainability initiatives across the group, by working with management, as well as at operational levels to help link the sustainability strategy with the business strategy in a way that advances both.

Integrate with the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work, ensures quality standards. As part of this role, you will:

Support the global sustainability data collection for internal and external reporting across the Group. Consult with the Sustainability Leadership Team (SLT) on the overall development of the team's strategy. Prepare Environmental Maturity Assessments. Prepare details on the business Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) work. Support the operationalization of the sustainability strategy alongside the SLT with periodic preparation of internal deliverables as needed (i.e. workshops, meetings, advisory committees, etc.). Assist Group teams globally to identify and implement KPIs and metrics in accordance with reporting requirements and a monitoring process to assess performance. Work closely with identified functions and business units to design, implement and maintain standardized internal reporting processes on Sustainability initiatives including internal controls. Consult with the business to effectively design and streamline applicable processes within the organization as applicable to align with the Global Sustainability Strategy and public commitments. Support the implementation of the Sustainability data collection/reporting software and its maintenance over time. Facilitate the interaction between external service providers and internal stakeholders. Manipulate, analyze, and interpret disparate or large volume data to extract insight. Promote strong corporate governance and ethical practices, ensuring transparency and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Keeps up to date on external best practices and monitors emerging trends and relevant changes related to sustainability and communicate updates to the Sustainability Leadership Team. Deliver high-quality supporting documentation, notes and research (e.g. components of the annual sustainability report, annual CSRD filing, other various jurisdictional filing requirements) in a timely manner. Support the continuous improvement of the internal process and methodologies. The ideal candidate will most likely be a degree-educated sustainability, assurance or consulting professional, with relevant experience in sustainability (assurance) consulting and/or reporting, financial reporting, internal or external audit, risk management, internal control is required; and a genuine desire to make a difference, with a natural curiosity. English is the business language in this organization, so fluency is essential, and other additional language skills are highly desirable. Interested? Please do get in touch.
