Job Description: This is an opportunity for an individual currently studying an Electrical, Electronics or combined study programme at an undergraduate level to join us for an internship based in our High Wycombe Site. The programme is up to one year in duration and will give you the opportunity to put your developing skills and knowledge into practice. You will be part of various projects which will allow you to further develop your understanding of the area and will give you real world experience of Engineering in a manufacturing environment. Working with Engineers of all levels and disciplines you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and support of the Electrical aspects of Instron Dynamic Systems products. The different projects you will be involved in will give you the opportunity to work with Engineers in our R&D laboratories as well as in the production environments. Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Contribute to Electrical/Electronics engineering and test equipment design of products. Preparation of BOM, design schemes and proposals Write test reports and documentation associated with new/updated electro-mechanical assemblies Assisting Engineers in the running of tests and recording of test data as well as the introduction of new products into production Responsibility for detail design and for drawing set update Production line layout, supporting pre-production with BOM, Instructions and drawing updates. Adhere to drawing office standards and design standards. Work with Supply Chain team to assist in the procurement of components and liaison with vendors, as necessary. Contribute to continuous improvement activities, Maintain a logbook to record the work undertaken. Key Competencies (includes skills)

Ability to carry out design and detail functions using Cad software, OrCad is preferable. A strong understanding of the foundations of electronic and electrical theory Ability to do basic engineering calculations to substantiate design solutions. Ability to work under time pressure and manage own time to meet project timescales whilst paying close attention to detail. Ideally, a job description should be reviewed annually and updated as often as necessary. Qualifications

“A” grade in A-level Maths and Physics (or direct equivalent) Undergraduate studying towards a Electronics Electrical degree with good grades in modules "Control Theory", "Analog Electronics", "Power Electronics" or equivalent modules
