pearsonplc.com About the role Global Procurement are the keepers of Pearson's buying standards – our role is to ensure that everyone gets the best value when dealing with the external community. Our specialists provide Category Management, ensuring a strategic understanding of each market while aligning to business priorities and minimising risk. We take an active role in sourcing and contracting with suppliers above £250k/year, and provide guidance, resources, and best practices to support lower cost buying across Pearson. We work to build resilient relationships with partners who are aligned to Pearson’s values, and to understand the social and environmental impact of the products and services we buy. Key requirements Final year student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Sustainability, or other relevant fields Strong analytical skills with an ability to use and interpret data to tell a story and make recommendations for improvement Good communicator with an ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau Expected to be in the office 2 to 3 times a week on specific days Potential projects may include: Assessing risk in our supply chain alongside strictly commercial considerations and establishing ongoing touchpoints in areas such as financial health, business continuity preparedness, management of greenhouse gas emissions, and ethical performance. Developing resources and guidance to drive compliance with our sourcing policies and effective contracting, ensuring that correct due diligence is completed to minimise risk. Implementing Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) treatment strategies with key suppliers to Pearson to promote relationship health factors that enable ongoing, mutual commercial success. This includes activities such as health assessments, establishing governance with clear accountabilities, and taking risk mitigation steps. Monday 16th June 2025 . You will be paid for the duration of your 10-week internship at a pro-rata annual salary of £27,007.50. Submission deadline
