We have a fabulous opportunity at DS Smith for a motivated and energetic self-starter to join our Corporate Affairs Team as Internal Communications Executive, working specifically with our Paper and Recycling divisions, driving our communication plans across throughout our European network of sites. Working closely with our Group and Divisional teams, this role allows candidates to be part of a growing, dynamic and lively business.

The Communications Executive role is central cog in the Internal Comms function, working with both group and divisional teams to deliver our Purpose and support in the development and activation of creative, engaging, impactful and measurable communication campaigns and initiatives that support DS Smith business programmes & objectives. Using your excellent writing, project management and communication skills, you will be responsible for:

  • Building strong relationships and working closely with stakeholders within the Paper and Recycling divisions, as well as across the wider Corporate Affairs Team
  • Coordinating our internal channels and delivering engaging drumbeat of content
  • Supporting the Internal Communications Business Partner in developing and implementing communications strategy
  • Collaborating with wider corporate affairs colleagues on high-profile global events, key communications moments and senior leadership visibility activities

About you?

  • Degree in related field (Comms/Marketing/PR) or equivilant
  • 1-2 years' experience working in a Comms/Marketing/PR role
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ideally experience in some or all of the following; Microsoft Office applications, filming /editing software, employee email communication tools, digital signage applications
  • Able to work independently but also comfortable building strong working relationships with colleagues around the business
  • Proactive, solutions focused, with good attention to detail
  • Able to manage their time effectively and implement processes

Location: This is a hybrid role, split between the office in London Paddington (3 days in office) and home (2 days).
