This exciting role will be part of the Corporate Affairs team, which includes internal communications, external communications, and public affairs. Reporting to the Senior Internal Communications Manager, this is a fast-paced and varied role crucial for developing and implementing internal communications to over 4,000 colleagues.

Newly created, this role will have a particular emphasis on managing our communication channels and content to colleagues at our seven manufacturing sites across the UK, which are home to some of the nation’s most loved and iconic brands. We think it will suit someone who is passionate about food and finding ways to engage a large and diverse colleague base while enjoying writing and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.

What we need from you..?

Ability to think strategically and be proactive with new and creative ideas while ensuring seamless execution.

Strong project management and organisational skills, being an effective multi-tasker.

Experience communicating with multiple internal audiences and driving engagement.

Experience managing multiple communications channels, particularly digital communication channels.

Ability to use initiative, prioritise, strategically plan, and practically execute with speed and effectiveness.

Flexibility with working hours, as this role may require working outside normal office hours due to events and travel to sites across the UK.

Experience or willingness to learn and use digital communication tools and innovative technology.

Not essential but ideally knowledge of intranet systems, Mail Chimp, and Zoom.

What you'll be doing..?

Reporting to the Senior Internal Communications Manager, you’ll help deliver the internal communications strategy across appropriate channels, focusing on communications within our manufacturing sites and wider supply chain.

Lead the day-to-day delivery of key projects and communication channels for colleagues at our manufacturing sites, such as a quarterly messaging cascade and a new colleague magazine, helping drive two-way engagement.

Travel to manufacturing sites regularly (every 1-2 months) to support key projects, run focus groups, and assist site leadership teams in delivering communications.

Help manage a network of site communication champions, driving engagement and regular content uploads to our intranet and/or digital screens.

Take a leading role in project managing the launch of a new colleague magazine, including writing and editing content, managing an external agency, and liaising with multiple internal stakeholders to meet deadlines.

Plan, edit, and write engaging internal communications content, including all colleague emails, presentations, webinars, stories for our intranet, and digital and written comms packs to support the Comms Champions and HR teams.

Work closely with HR and the comms champs at each site to support them on comms best practices and messaging cascade.

Collaborate with HR and IT teams to deliver communications and drive engagement for key initiatives.

Work closely with the External Communications Manager.

Support the External Communications Manager and Director of Communications and Public Affairs in delivering corporate PR campaigns, replicating content to internal channels as appropriate and assisting with crisis management as required.

Manage external agencies such as AV suppliers, designers, and production companies on an ad hoc project basis.
